Java 3D versus OpenGL

Java 3D is at a higher level than JOGL which is the Java binding to openGL.

I found this article interesting in the context of Java3D and JOGL comparison.

Java 3D can use JOGL or Direct 3D as its underlying rendering engine. However, many of the digital art tools like Art of Illusion uses JOGL rather than Java3D.

Let me look under the hood of both the engines and decide which one is more suitable for my purpose.

Dimensions

Artistic realm is about getting beyond the reality and interpreting one's environment and thoughts through a creative medium.

Artistic constrains are the self inflicted constraints imposed by the artist to their artwork. However, the medium too constraints the artist. But the technical knowhow should not constrain an artist. If it does, then its a technical handicap that needs to be overcome.

Here in this blog, I intent to share my voyage to overcome may technical handicaps that comes in my way of my artistic expressions.

Stay tuned.
